Another release of new technology, HPHT
Higher Pressure and Higher Temperature environment is a new technology that has peeped into the oil industry since years back. This technology is very advanced and the top most technology used in drilling oil wells. Even though the higher pressure higher temperature oil wells are highly difficult to be built, it is constructed in many parts of the world and a larger number in the US.
Under sea equipments and the under ground pipe line technology has gone beyond its scope due to the invention of HPHT technology. The HPHT technology has a very high demand as many oil reservoirs exceed the required temperature and pressure limits. As the wells go deeper and deeper, the temperature and pressure reaches a very higher value which challenges the drilling equipments as well as the required fluid properties. HPHT technology breaks this barrier going highly beyond the theoretical limit of the pressure and temperature an oil reservoir could posses. This technology improves the safety and efficiency of the drilling operations in HPHT environment.
HPHT technology faces high challenges like the other oil industry technologies and services. If the barrier is a high temperature or a high pressure alone is an easy challenge which could be settled off. But when both the temperature as well as the pressure remains very high, the work environment turns to a drastic condition which requires different sensors, electronics and other equipments. These complications are very difficult to sort out.
A major development is expected to take place in the higher pressure and higher temperature technology to battle off the inconveniences caused during the application of the technology. Many engineering firms and researchers are currently working on finding further effective and much appreciable solutions that could further enhance the HPHT technology.
